Dear retailer,
At the next Council meeting on Monday evening 16th July, Council will decide whether or not to rezone the land in Warlters Street adjacent to Settlement City which is currently occupied by St Josephs Primary and Regional Schools. The Chamber of Commerce is strongly opposed to any rezoning of this site as it would have catastrophic consequences for anyone with an existing retail business in Port Macquarie and surrounding areas and it would also remove a critical site available for future tourism. We are aiming to get a very large group of concerned retailers to attend the Council meeting and demonstrate to the councillors that there is strong opposition to the rezoning of the site. Chamber will seek to address Council and has also prepared a written submission. We want you to be part of this. Where: Port Macquarie Hastings Council Chambers, Burrawan Street, Port Macquarie. Date: Monday 16th July. Time: Meet at 4:45pm. The Council meeting commences at 5:00pm and it will be early on the agenda. This is really important. Please come along to let the Councillors know that you want a viable future for your business. |
