Women in small business on the Mid North Coast have the opportunity to gain long lasting business skills when the Port Chamber of Commerce partners with other local business networks to deliver the Women in Business Mentoring Program locally in early 2012.
The NSW Department of Trade and Investment Program offers a proven formula of workshops, mentoring and networking to strengthen the growth stage of small business. Since its inception in 1995, the program has provided empowerment, support and encouragement for more than 7,000 women business owners.
The program comprises five business education workshops over five months, two networking events and 10 hours of mentoring to assist participants with their business growth. It caters for up to 25 business owners who are looking for strategies and skills to help take their businesses to the next level, with the added advantage of having the support of a business mentor through the program.
Port Chamber Executive Officer, Liesa Davies encouraged local women in business to consider the opportunity to be involved in the program, either as a participant or a mentor.
“With the funding support from the NSW Department of Trade and Investment, allows us to offer immense value to local business women via this program. It’s been around 3 years since we secured such funding in the region, so we are very pleased to be partnering with our other local business networks including the Hastings Business Women’s Network to offer the program. We’ve only just started to spread the word and the response to date has been fantastic!”
